A concrete mixer on an active UAE site runs in one of the hardest operating environments for rotating equipment. The following maintenance schedule is built around UAE conditions specifically.
Daily (after last batch each shift)
- Tumble-clean the drum with water and coarse gravel
- Rinse and run empty until discharge water runs clear
- Wipe down the drum exterior, ring gear, and chassis
- Check for visible cracks, loose bolts, or unusual noise
Weekly
- Check and tighten all drum mounting bolts
- Inspect drum liner for wear
- Check belt tension on belt-driven models
- Inspect electrical connections on electric models for dust ingress
Monthly
- Lubricate ring gear and pinion
- Grease all grease points
- Check motor ventilation slots — clear dust blockage
- Inspect rubber seals for hardening or cracking
Petrol engine (every 50 hours)
- Check and change engine oil — reduce interval to every 40 hours in peak summer
- Clean or replace air filter
- Check spark plug condition
